This tank does not have a trip lever. It is flushed by waving your hand over the tank lid. A battery powered mechanism inside the tank will flush the toilet. Many people have requested over the years if there is another tank that will work in place of this tank. You can use either the K4620 or K4436 tank. They are the exact same shape and size porcelain, but have a flush handle instead of the auto-flushing system. You will be able to use your tank lid from your 18583 tank, but will need to buy either the K4620 or K4436 tank, and will need to also buy a set of internal parts for the new tank. A fluidmaster toilet repair kit will work with either of those tanks.
